Ketersediaan Pangan Dan Gizi Merupakan Faktor Pemungkin Lingkungan terhadap Penurunan Stunting di Kawasan Asia Terpilih: Analisis Data Neraca Bahan Makanan Badan Pangan Dunia (FAO Food Balance Sheets)

Abstrak

Pendahuluan, Intervensi stunting belum menyentuh determinan mendasar yaitu sistem pangan yang dimulai dari pembentukan pola ketersediaan pangan pada tingkat nasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari pola ketersediaan pangan dan gizi makro yang menentukan prevalensi stunting di 23 negara Asia dalam 3 kawasan.

Metode, Desain penelitian studi ekologi dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari Food Balances Sheet dari Badan Pangan FAO yang diunduh melalui internet.

Hasil, Ketersediaan energi, protein, dan lemak di Asia Tenggara dan Asia Selatan lebih rendah dibandingkan Asia Barat yang mempunyai prevalensi stunting <15%. Semakin rendah ketersediaan gizi makro semakin tinggi prevalensi stunting.

Kesimpulan, Ketersediaan pangan dan gizi makro yang mendekati proporsi pola konsumsi sehat merupakan pemungkin lingkungan bagi penurunan stunting.
