Peningkatan Pengetahuan Dan Pemahaman Lansia Melalui Penyuluhan Tentang Kesehatan Gigi Dan Mulut

Abstract

Background. By the end of 2020, it is estimated that the number of elderly people will reach 11.34% of the total population. With age, there is a decrease in the function of organs and various physical changes, including changes in the oral cavity. The Elderly Posyandu was formed due to an increase in the number of elderly and to provide services to the elderly specifically under the health office/puskesmas. Objectives was to Increase the elderly's understanding of dental and oral health which can be done through socialization at the Elderly Posyandu. The implementation method was carried out by counseling about dental and oral health in the elderly. Counseling was carried out to 13 elderly people who attended the Elderly Posyandu at Harapan Raya Health Center Pekanbaru City. Counseling was done by giving questionnaires before and after giving the material. The method of giving the material was lectures, video screenings and interactive questions and answers to evaluate the level of understanding of the elderly by giving pre and posttest questionnaires with five questions regarding dental and oral health. This activity involved all the elderly who come to the elderly posyandu and cadres of the Harapan Raya Health Center in Pekanbaru City. The Results of the pre-test before counseling were 76.9%, while 92.3% the elderly could answer the post-test results after counseling. This showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of the elderly by 15.4% after the post test. The conclusion of the activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge and understanding of the elderly about dental and oral health.

Latar belakang. Akhir tahun 2020 diperkirakan jumlah Lansia mencapai 11,34% dari total populasi penduduk. Seiring bertambahnya usia, terjadi penurunan fungsi organ tubuh dan berbagai perubahan fisik, termasuk perubahan didalam rongga mulut. Posyandu Lansia dibentuk karena adanya peningkatan jumlah lansia dan untuk memberi pelayanan kepada Lansia secara khusus dibawah dinas kesehatan/ puskesmas. Tujuan Peningkatan pemahaman lansia mengenai kesehatan gigi dan mulutnya dapat dilakukan dengan cara sosialisasi yang dilakukan di posyandu lansia. Metode Pelaksanaan dengan penyuluhan tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada lansia. Penyuluhan dilakukan terhadap 13 orang lansia yang hadir pada Posyandu Lansia puskesmas Harapan Raya Kota Pekanbaru. Penyuluhan dilakukan dengan memberikan kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pemberian materi. Pemberian materi dalam bentuk ceramah, pemutaran video serta tanya jawab interaktif yang dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat pemahaman lansia terhadap materi yang diberikan dengan memberikan kusioner pre dan posttest sebanyak lima butir pertanyaan mengenai pemahaman lansia mengenai kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Kegiatan ini melibatkan seluruh lansia yang datang ke posyandu lansia dan kader Puskesmas Harapan Raya Kota Pekanbaru. Hasil Dari hasil pretest sebelum penyuluhan 76,9% dan posttest 92,3% lansia dapat menjawab sesudah penyuluhan. Hal ini menunjukan indikator peningkatan, dimana terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan lansia sebesar 15,4% setelah posttest. Kesimpulan kegiatan menunjukkan ada peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman lansia tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut.
