Abstract

Abstract

At the age of 40 years, bone mass in adult women begins to decline. Measurement of bone mass in adult women is important to prevent osteoporosis. Currently, there is no osteoporosis prevention program for adult women in the form of measuring bone mass, so it is necessary to measure bone mass hence adult women could know their bone health and risk for osteoporosis. The purpose of this community service was to assist adult women in knowing their bone health and risk for osteoporosis by measuring bone mass. The implementation of community service activities was carried out by measuring bone mass and nutritional status of adult women with the BMI nutritional status index. Measurement of bone mass and body weight using the Tanita Digital Scales BC-G02 Body Composition Monitor, while measuring height using a microtoise. A total of 22 adult women participated in the measurement of bone mass with an average age of 36.9 years, the lowest age was 24 years and the highest age was 50 years. The nutritional status of adult women mostly included overweight (40.9%) and obesity (31.8%). Most of the respondents' bone mass was in the poor category (72.7%). It is recommended for adult women to increase their bone mass by increasing the intake of calcium and vitamin D.
