Abstract

High blood pressure or hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is one of the main causes of premature death in the world, the global prevalence of hypertension is 22% of the total world population. Hypertension is mostly suffered by the elderly, at the age of 30 years both men and women will be more at risk for developing hypertension. So education related to hypertension is needed so that complications do not occur. The purpose of this activity was to determine the effect of providing educational media with leaflets and posters on productive age in Padokan Kidul, DIY. The method used is the pretest and posttest designs. This activity was carried out in Padokan Kidul, Tirtnormolo Village, Bantul District, DIY. The subjects of the activity were 40 people of productive age in Padokan Kidul, DIY. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and continued with the paired sample t-test. The results of the t-test showed a p-value of 0.000 <0.05 which indicates that there is a difference in the average knowledge of the community about hypertension before and after counseling and leaflet giving. It is hoped that the results obtained can increase public knowledge related to hypertension and it is advisable to diligently carry out health checks to prevent complications due to hypertension.

Abstrak

Hipertensi banyak di derita oleh lansia, namun seiring dengan perubahan zaman dan gaya hidup, penderita hipertensi lebih mayoritas pada usia ≥ 30 tahun baik laki-laki maupun perempuan. Oleh sebab itu, untuk mencegah diperlukanya edukasi terkait Hipertensi agar tidak bertambahnya kasus baru dan terjadinya komplikasi. Tujuan penelitian yaitu transfer knowledge untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang hipertensi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan pendekatan pretest dan posttest pada responden sebanyak 40 orang dengan usia produktif. Analisis yang menggunakan nilai rerata pre-posttest dan analisis paired t-test untuk menganalisis perbedaan intervensi secara statistik. Berdasarkan kegiatan ini, adanya peningkatan pengetahuan yang dilihat dari perbedaan nilai rerata nilai pre-posttest 7,55 menjadi 19,075. Selanjutnya, Hasil Uji t didapatkan nilai p-value 0,000<0,05 yang menunjukan bahwa adanya perbedaan rerata pengetahuan masyarakat tentang Hipertensi sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan   dengan pemberian Leaflet dan poster. Kesimpulan, dengan adanya penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat perbedaan rerata pengetahuan masyarakat tentang hipertensi sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan.
