Faktor yang Berhubungan dengan Kejadian Diare pada Balita di Wilayah Indonesia Tengah (IFLS 2014)

Diare merupakan penyebab kematian kedua tertinggi pada balita di dunia. Setiap tahunnya setidaknya 1,7 juta kasus diare pada anak terjadi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian diare pada balita di wilayah Indonesia Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan data Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) 5 tahun 2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah balita usia 6-59 bulan di Provinsi Bali, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Kalimantan Selatan dan Sulawesi Selatan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional dengan jumlah sample 1079 balita. Diketahui sebanyak 16,8% balita di wilayah Indonesia Tengah mengalami diare, dengan persentase terbesar 17,75% di Nusa Tenggara Barat. Berdasarkan hasil uji multivariat didapatkan variabel usia (p-value <0,001), jenis kelamin (p-value <0,003), dan penanganan sampah rumah tangga (p-value <0,017) berhubungan dengan diare. Usia merupakan faktor dominan kejadian diare pada balita 6-59 bulan di wilayah Indonesia Tengah (OR: 2,421, CI 95%= 1,739-3,370), artinya balita usia 6-23 bulan beriko 2,4 kali menderita diare. Hal ini disebabkan oleh berkurangnya kekebalan tubuh anak yang didapat dari ibu, masa tumbuh kembang anak yang pesat dan dimulainya penyapihan pada usia tersebut. Penguatan pemahaman dan komitmen pengimplementasian Program Indonesia Sehat dengan Pendekatan Keluarga (PIS-PK) diperlukan untuk memberikan informasi kesehatan terkait pencegahan dan pengobatan diare tersampaikan dengan pendekatan kepada keluarga balita, sehingga memunculkan kesadaran kesehatan mulai dari lingkungan keluarga.
