Abstract

Most of students from elementary school consume street food that sold around their school almost every day. These snacks are indicated to contain hazardous substances to health. The students have not been well educated about healthy snacks. One of the efforts needed to manage the consumption of healthy snacks is community service activities in the form of health education. Health education targeting elementary school children aims to increase knowledge about the importance of consuming healthy snacks so that they become role models for positive behavior change. Health education is carried out at SDIT Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The materials presented were healthy food sources, an introduction to safe and unsafe snacks and invitations to maintain cleanliness. The method used in education is the lecture and discussion method which is accompanied by video playback and standing banners. The result of the activity is an increase in students' knowledge in choosing healthy and consuming snacks. The planned development of the role of SDIT Fadhilah elementary school children needs to be carried out continuously to support the success of the program

Abstrak

Mayoritas siswa sekolah dasar mengkonsumsi jajanan yang dijual oleh pedagang kaki lima yang hampir setiap hari berada di lingkungan sekolah. Jajanan tersebut terindikasi mengandung zat berbahaya pada kesehatan. Pengetahuan siswa terhadap jajanan sehat masih rendah. Salah satu upaya yang diperlukan untuk penatalaksanaan konsumsi jajanan sehat adalah kegiatan pengabdian berupa edukasi kesehatan. Edukasi kesehatan dengan sasaran anak sekolah dasar bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya konsumsi jajanan sehat sehingga menjadi role model dalam perubahan perilaku positif. Edukasi kesehatan dilaksanakan di SDIT Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Materi yang disampaikan adalah sumber pangan yang sehat, pengenalan jajanan yang aman dan tidak aman serta ajakan menjaga kebersihan. Metode yang digunakan dalam edukasi adalah metode ceramah dan diskusi yang disertai pemutaran video dan standing banner. Hasil kegiatan adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan siswa dalam memilih dan mengonsumsi jajanan sehat. Pengembangan dan pembinaan upaya promotif dan preventif pada anak sekolah dasar SDIT Fadhilah secara terencana, terus menerus perlu dilaksanakan.
